Terron Armstead, who starred at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff as an offensive tackle, will be inducted into the New Orleans Saints Hall of Fame as part of its 2026 class.

“I’m a hall of famer,” Armstead said on his YouTube channel on June 18. “Terron Armstead. New Orleans Saints hall of famer. Class of 2026.”

Armstead was selected in the third-round (75th overall) of the 2013 by the Saints. He went on to play 12 seasons in the league and was named to five Pro Bowls. He played with the Saints from 2013-2021 before finishing his career with the Dolphins (2022-2024).

Armstead started 131 of 135 NFL games. He played mostly at left tackle.

“Me and my brother (running back) Mark Ingram shared a lot of time together,” Armstead said. “A lot of snaps. A lot of pain. A lot of joy. It’s hard for me to put into words…I just wanted to share this moment.”

Armstead currently serves as UAPB’s inaugural athletic ambassador.

The induction ceremony will take place during the weekend of a Saints home game to be announced later.

The 6-foot-5 and 305-pounder is a native of Cahokia, Ill., near St. Louis.

He played for UAPB from 2009-12 and was an integral part of the 2012 SWAC championship and Boxtorow HBCU coaches’ national championship team.

He was a three-time second-team All-SWAC selection during his time in Pine Bluff. He also competed in track and field.

Armstead was well-respected by his teammates and was named a captain from 2018-21. He was nominated for the NFL Walter Payton Man of the Year award in 2019. In 2020, his teammates selected him for the Ed Block Courage Award, given to a player from each NFL team who exemplifies sportsmanship and courage and inspires others in the locker room.

“I want to share these moments,” Armstead said.
